  • Veteran's Free Day is on Thursday, October 13! 
In honor of Navy Founding Day, on Thursday, October 13, all veterans and active duty military are welcome to come to the museum free of charge. For free admission, a form of ID is required to show that you are a veteran or active military member. Acceptable forms of ID include: Affairs Card, Indiana Veterans Card, VFW, American Legion, and Driver's License with Veterans ID. 

 

  • La Porte County Historical Society Meeting will take place on Tuesday, October 18 at 7pm at the Museum!
Special guest speaker Greg Fruth will present a program on the 100th Anniversary of Football at La Porte high School. Although the first team was fielded in 1895, the sport was banned for 12 years because of the violence of the game. Learn how Theodore Rooselvelt saved the game and many more fascinating facts about Slicer Football.

 

  • Museum Trick or Treat on Saturday, October 29 from 2-4pm!
Come down to the Museum for a ghoulish good time! From 2:00-4:00 on Saturday, October 29, visit our period rooms to get a trick or a treat from a pioneer, Victorian, Midcentury Madame, and more! The price of admission for guardians is $5.00 for adults, $4.00 for seniors, and members get in free. Kids also get in free!
