Census Bureau: More women than men in Jefferson in 2017


Of the 10,469 people living in Jefferson in 2017, 51.5 percent (5,391) were women and 48.5 percent (5,078) were men, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained by the Louisiana Business Daily.

Males 18 and over outnumbered females in the same age group by a ratio of 3,606-to-3,505. In the 65 years and over age range, there were 994 females and 813 males.
