About 49.6 percent of the 133 degrees and certificates handed out by Herzing University-Kenner in 2017-18 were to students in health professions and related programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.
The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the private not-for-profit institution in Kenner conferred 60 associate's degrees and 6 bachelor's degrees in health professions and related programs.
But the single most popular program was for a associate's degree in surgical technology/technologist. Data shows the school gave out 27 associate's degrees in surgical technology/technologist, followed by 26 associate's degrees in medical insurance coding specialist/coder and 15 master's degrees in "other" business administration, management and operations.
The university enrolled 431 students for 2017-18, including 398 in undergraduate programs and 33 in graduate programs.
