Graduates earn 3,525 degrees, certificates from University of Louisiana at Lafayette

About 23.5 percent of the 3,525 degrees and certificates handed out by the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in 2016-17 were to students in Health Professions and Related Programs programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the public institution in Lafayette conferred 726 bachelor's degrees and 99 master's degrees in Health Professions and Related Programs programs.

But the single most popular program was for a bachelor's degree in Registered Nursing/Registered Nurse. Data shows the school gave out 597 bachelor's degrees in Registered Nursing/Registered Nurse, followed by 293 bachelor's degrees in General Studies and 155 bachelor's degrees in Business Administration and Management, General.

The university enrolled 17,519 students for 2016-17, including 15,998 in undergraduate programs and 1,521 in graduate programs.
