Graduates earn 2,666 degrees, certificates from Baton Rouge Community College

About 39.6 percent of the 2,666 degrees and certificates handed out by the Baton Rouge Community College in 2016-17 were to students in Liberal Arts and Sciences, General Studies and Humanities programs, making them the most popular programs that year,


About 39.6 percent of the 2,666 degrees and certificates handed out by the Baton Rouge Community College in 2016-17 were to students in Liberal Arts and Sciences, General Studies and Humanities programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the public institution in Rouge conferred 914 certificates and 143 associate's degrees in Liberal Arts and Sciences, General Studies and Humanities programs.

But the single most popular program was for a certificate in General Studies. Data shows the school gave out 914 certificates in General Studies, followed by 462 certificates in Welding Technology/Welder and 180 certificates in Heating, Air Conditioning, Ventilation and Refrigeration Maintenance Technology/Technician.

The college enrolled 7,297 students for 2016-17, all of whom were enrolled in undergraduate programs.
