Greater Phoenix Chamber of Commerce member Brenda Cunningham has used her experience of job loss to launch an outplacement business that is helping those faced with a layoff to transition and navigate their professional lives.

Cunningham, who recently wrote an article for the Phoenix Chamber, explains that her job layoff eight years ago made her realize the importance of having what she calls an outplacement partner after their companies had to lay off employees.

“With the launch of Push Outplacement Services, my dream of helping people navigate and plan their professional lives is now my reality,” Cunningham said in her piece. “Leaving my nine-year engineering career was hard, but necessary to begin walking in my purpose as a career manager. Having helped hundreds of job seekers land their ideal positions, I knew I could offer a robust outplacement solution for professionals looking to find their next step.”

Through her business, Cunningham works with executives on personal coaching and practical career transition support when they must deal with layoffs of their workforce.

“Partnering with an outplacement and career transition firm protects your industry reputation and brand, helps you to avoid litigation risks, and creates a willing-to-return talent pool once your business rebounds,” Cunningham said in her article. “But more importantly, it allows you to take care of the people that have taken care of your company for so long.”
