Non discretionary Income....What is it?

Nondiscretionary Income is income that is left over after a consumer's basic needs have been met. True or False? I'm really confused...i mean...i took notes and everything, but there is nothing about this...please help? This is my last question. =D

  1. It is the opposite of what you said. It is non (not) discretionary because you have to spend it for basic needs. You need the money for your food, rent, medicines, utilities and cannot enjoy it on things you might otherwise choose. Once those basic needs are met, then and only then, can you exercise discretion (choices) for things you may enjoy like shopping for clothing, books, transportation, gifts. So, in answer to the True/False, it would be a false statement.
