How much discretionary income do you have each month?

Whether you save it or spend it, how much money do you have left over each month after you've paid all of your bills? Is $1,200 good?

I would say $1,200 is good. I don't have anywhere near that, but I only make $2,000/month.
How would we know?? I have about -$40, so in comparison, yeah, I'd say $1,200 is good. Are you here to brag about being financially secure or something?
Yes,I'd say that is good. Most blue collar and many white collar folks would be glad to have that much to play with. Adjusted for inflation,I'd say I had maybe 500 a month when we had three children,and helped them through college. The way we did it was to live in Philly,so they could take the Broad St subway to and from Temple,and living at home saved a load of cash. Also,I was able to steal from my employer to the tune of 5 or 6K a year.When I went straight and got a job with the DOD,I was able to keep a beautiful model for a lover. If you think only of yourself and your kids,money is not hard to come by. The best deal I had was providing cash for a grass dealer until he lost his life. Now I lend to the lower wage earners.to help them along
